Description: Ecocitrus
was founded in 1994 as an ecological agriculture development project.
It consists of 42 member families and 150 allied families that do not
use biofertilizers.
The Cooperative is organized in such a way
that the farmers assume the whole productive chain, from the production
of their inputs, social organization, training, technology generation,
and credibility (participative certification), industrialization, and
marketing. Ecocitrus’ objective is to rescue sustainable, socially
fair, ecologically correct, and economically viable agriculture for the
Caí Valley region.
