Description:
CEDECO is a non-governmental organization that was founded in 1984, and
whose goal is to facilitate processes and initiatives in ecological
agriculture focusing on the productive linkages to foster an
alternative rural development, at the service of organized small
farmers.
Providing services with a gender approach in
training, technical assistance, research, communication, having an
impact on improving production, agroindustry, and organic trade,
promoting local, national, and international markets, and promoting an
impact on other players, as well.
Its main objectives are to:
- Support the development of organic agriculture as an alternative and affirmative option for the new rural social development model.
- Contribute to social, ecological, and economic sustainability of organic productive processes for small rural landholdings in Costa Rica.
- Stimulate new organizational, training, and informational modes for organic players.
- Establish relations of coordination, interchange, and impact at the national, Central American, and international levels.
